Icon Hospital to Break Ground on New Specialty Hospital in Humble
Humble, TX -- AcuityHealthcare announced today that it will break ground on a new two story, 42,000 square foot, Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTAC) in Humble, Texas. The scheduled opening is March 2008. The site is located at 19211 McKay Drive in Humble. AcuityHealthcare, LP, which specializes in LTAC facilities, is the developer, a part owner and the manager of the project.
The hospital will offer specialized care through an interdisciplinary approach to patients with serious, medically complex problems who require intensive hospitalization for an extended period.
The hospital will be conveniently located near Memorial Hermann Northeast Medical Center and Kingwood Medical Center and will be the only LTAC hospital serving the Highway 59 corridor that includes Northeast Harris County, South Montgomery County and West Liberty County. The new hospital will operate 54 acute hospital beds including an eight-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Other services will include radiology, laboratory, rehabilitation services, cardiac and telemetry monitoring, case management, nutrition services, critical care nursing, respiratory therapy and clinical pharmacy. The hospital will provide specialized programs in pulmonary disease, wound care and the treatment of high acuity, medically complex patients.

Financing for the building is provided by SNB Bank, with construction management by Professional Construction Services, Inc., of Houston, Texas.
